USS MOINESTER FF-1097, while homeported Norfolk, VA ~ early'85
Uss Moinester FF-10973 original sea-stories

Welcome to the Mickey-Moe Homepage, while MickeyMoe was our affectionate name for our ship, and this is my un-offical personal webpage, OUR Ship was a VERY serious ASW (Anti-Submarine Warfare) ship that protected Everybody East of the Rockies from a Nuclear Attack launched by Soviet submarines in the Atlantic during our nowhere cruises always searching them out! As a deterrent for the "Detente", our ship went beyond its duty in diligence with many hours, days, and months maintaining an alert patrol against the Ultimate Threat.

More info now that after 25 years ago AND soon after also the collapse of the Soviet Union is to be no longer anything Top Secret about OUR Vigilance, this website will hopefully bring together the Fine Sailors that wish to remember instead of forget as we were told to do, Our silent glory in a Job well done protecting the USA serving during the Cold War.
If you served aboard the Moinester at anytime, please email me at DKDixon@dancom.US
I served aboard 80-85 as QM3 to QM1 Dixon.
I don't have many snapshot photos of the crew, and almost none of myself since the few I got were taken by me.
Scan and send me any photos you may have with permission to post.
